Why I Love Oils:
It seems like lately we hear about more and more people getting on the essential oil band wagon. I just want to share a little about why I am going chemical free in our house and using essential oils to do that.
It really started with my own personal health issues. I have been battling depression and anxiety since my teens. I have been on many medications. Many. I have also been on many “cocktails” of medications. I have found them either ineffective or too effective and I love my marbles. At one really low point where I was on three different meds my boyfriend, exceptionally concerned, suggested that perhaps what I was on was not helping me and I needed to seriously think about what I was putting in my body. Coming off a bizarre spell complete with suicidal thoughts, I knew he was right. I talked to my doctor and we decided that it was worth doing for me at the tim. Fast forward 3 years and a LOT of extreme financial stress I was back on medications that were expensive and, I felt, disconnecting me from the universal energies and affecting my reiki practice. I read about essential oils and dove right in. While you should always talk to your doctor before making ANY changes and I would certainly not suggest you do it the way I did, nor am I trying to diagnose any illnesses or suggest that essential oils cure depression and anxiety, the oils have supported me and been complimentary in me not taking medication anymore. I find that essential oils are a great way to complement therapies like reiki outside of regular treatments.
Why I chose Young Living:
I did a lot of research when I chose a brand of Essential Oils to start using. First and foremost, I wanted to be sure what I was putting in and on my body. I knew by now that not all oils were made the same and as a result I narrowed my choices down to only a few reasonable candidates. I chose Young Living because of a testimonial about their peppermint oil that just really resonated with me. Basically she said that Young Living’s peppermint oil did not smell sweet like the other brands. Real peppermint leaves smell more like a plant and when I smelled Young Living’s peppermint oil I found that to be the case. It smelled like a peppermint leaf. That might sound silly to you but that made sense to me and I knew I what I was going to order after that. It also is consoling that Young Living controls the entire process of producing their oils from the cultivation to the distillation process to the testing to ensure they meet their strict standards. This makes me sure I am putting in the most pure substances in my body.
If you’re interested in trying these oils for themselves feel free to contact me or request a class in your home or business. I teach classes on the oils and chemical living for free and am happy to schedule one in your area or online for your customers, friends, and family.
